A Lush, Jungle Setting for Elopements and Intimate Ceremonies

Just out of the heart of Ubud, Indonesia, nestled in the thick tangle of the Ubud Monkey Forest and boasting heartstopping views in every direction, you’ll find Viceroy Bali. This five star resort combines the warmth of Balinese hospitality with the luxury of first-class amenities. Upon arrival, each guest is gifted a traditional lei and cocktail before being ushered to a private villa graced with fresh flowers and featuring a terrace overlooking the Petanu river and Lahamba Maharaja valley.

Brides hoping to plan a destination wedding in Bali can take advantage of Viceroy Bali’s wedding packages, which offer luxurious accommodations for intimate affairs of up to twenty guests, making it the ideal location for a small wedding or elopement. Orchids line the pathway of guests’ buggy ride to each villa, setting the tone for all the natural beauty and glamour a bride could hope for in an island as exotic as Bali.

After a long day of travel, guests can drop off their bags and enjoy a dip in the stunning infinity pool, which wraps around a lush garden and Cascades Restaurant. After a swim, the sun sets below the river and sets the tone for a candlelit private dinner with produce grown in the resort’s very own greenhouse. If relaxing by the public pool isn’t quite your scene, you can enjoy a heated swim in the comfort of your own villa or send photos to family and friends via the incredibly strong WiFi connection (this is rare for Bali).

Sorting Out The Details

Ceremony and Reception Spaces: Nestled on the hotel’s property is Aperitif, a beautiful fine dining restaurant that provides the perfect venue for a lush, jungle valley setting. A quaint Balinese fish pond overlooking nearby rice fields is ideal for a sunset ceremony or elopement, and the art-deco inspired restaurant and bar can seat up to 20 guests for an intimate reception.

In-House Services Offered: A private villa is available for the bride to have her hair and makeup done prior to the ceremony, and brides needing help finding a stylist can share inspiration images with the hotel staff in return for vendor recommendations and pricing estimates. For brides on a budget, the venue does offer a 3-4 photography package from £325, although the area also boasts many local photographers with rates from £2500 that Viceroy Bali is happy to recommend. For entertainment during your reception, choose from among several add-on options including traditional Balinese dancers or a live jazz band.

Catering: Hosting a reception at the hotel’s restaurant Aperitif calls for a menu as elegant as the surrounding setting. The restaurant’s Dégustation menu features a tasting of light, delightful dishes, including oyster, ceviche, duck magret, and more. Note that the hotel does not offer open bar packages, but couples can book a toasting bottle of Champagne Moet et Chandon Brut Imperial for £525. Finally, arrange for a gorgeous, artist-designed cake provided by Harvest Cakes for £501 – just large enough to feed 6 people and perfect for a small celebration following an elopement or intimate ceremony.

Accommodations: Extend your stay in a private villa overlooking Ubud’s lush jungles and rice fields. Our favourite choice for honeymooners would be one of the Deluxe Terraces, featuring traditional Balinese architecture integrated with modern, luxe features. Take a dip in the heated outdoor pool or curl up with a book in the shade of the traditional balé bungalow. The interiors feature wifi, television, and a large marble bathroom outfitted with a 30cm rain shower. Trust us when we say you will never want to leave...
