Well Travelled Bride Bali Destination Wedding Guide.jpg

Step Into Luxury

From the moment you step off the plane in Bali, be prepared for a flood of scents and colours to sweep over you. It is an island truly set apart from the rest of SouthEast Asia, where a blend of ancient cultures mingle to form a way of life like no other. Everywhere you walk, you will be welcomed by the spicy scent of incense burning, along with lush flowers and sculptural temples and buildings. Home to some of the world’s most talented bespoke designers, the island provides a truly unique opportunity to select from among upscale, high-end Asian vendors and expat Aussie and European creatives catering to brides with a softer, more bohemian vision.

Bali is definitely a wonderful destination to fly out a hoard of guests without breaking the bank. Spacious villas are often a fraction of what they would cost to rent out at any other tropical locale, and you can fill your days with cocktails, seafood dinners, and endless massages at completely reasonable prices as well. We suggest enjoying a long weekend with friends and family before your vows, then slipping away to a second resort for a few more luxurious days as newlyweds.

Law changes that will come into effect in 2020 will be sure to shake things up for the Bali wedding industry. There will be new requirements for all vendors offering wedding services to have Kitas (working visas) and for all legal ceremonies to include a Balinese celebrant. We’ll be sure to keep our finger on the pulse and bring you updates as they come in about how these changes will affect those wanting to say yes in Bali. But, minor hiccups aside, there’s no legality on earth that could change how heavenly this little slice of Paradise is to all who are lucky enough to experience it.
