Sorting Out The Details

Ceremony and Reception Spaces: The crown jewel of Achnagairn is the opulent ballroom, built in 1912 when the then-owner’s daughter complained that she had nowhere special enough to celebrate her 21st birthday. The ballroom her parents built for her is as stunning now as it was then, and will ensure an ultimate ‘wow’ moment from your guests as they enter through the grand doors. Vaulted ceilings draw the eyes upward and lend the hallowed air of a Highlands church, while opportunities abound for your florist to cover the aisle and walls with greenery and fragrant flowers. After the ceremony, your guests will be invited to mingle in the gardens for an outdoor cocktail hour while the event staff turns the ballroom into a seated dinner space for up to 200 guests. The addition of candles and greenery instantly transforms the space into something out of a fairytale, creating an effect that will linger in the memories of your loved ones for years to come.

Guest Capacity: Well suited for mid- to large-sized weddings, Achagairn’s ballroom can host up to 200 guests for a seated dinner, or 260 guests for dancing and cocktails.

Catering: Catering at Achnagairn is provided by chefs Euan and David of Table Manors Restaurant. Since its establishment in 2017, Table Manors has received multiple culinary and service awards and is known for producing hearty, elegant meals that can be customised according to your preferences and that feature herbs and vegetables gathered from the estate grounds.

COVID Wedding: Whether you are planning a quiet gathering or a grand affair, Achnagairn offers several wedding and event packages designed to tailor to your specific needs. With recent restrictions on large events being put in place, their hospitality team designed an intimate 20 person wedding package that offers exclusive access to the estate for 24 hours to you and 20 of your closest friends. Roam the magical halls and grounds of the castle and enjoy 6 luxury suites from 11am one morning to 11am the next day. This package includes full catering service, drinks, and dancing -- with proper distancing ensured -- so that you won’t have to miss out on one moment of the day you’d dreamed of.

Accommodations: Across the estate, accommodations are available for up to 130 overnight guests. The castle itself boasts 24 luxury suites that sleep up to 55 guests, and an additional 75 guests can be housed in the “Mini Manors” located nearby. Each room at Achnagairn is individually designed with a unique name and custom furnishings. Flip through images of all the available rooms and select the perfect setting for your bridal suite, as well as suites for all your closest friends and family members. As far as reservations go, the bridal couple generally hires the castle suites for family and closest friends, and then charges other overnight guests for rooms in the Mini-Manors. However, if you don’t want to deal with collecting reimbursements from your guests for their rooms the venue can definitely take deposits for the manors from the guests themselves for an additional fee. Whatever you decide to do, just make sure to establish clear communication between your planner and the venue regarding how many guests you anticipate will stay and the best method of reserving their rooms.
