Intercontinental Da Nang Sun Peninsular Resort
Where Myth Meets Luxury...
The Intercontinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort is in a league of its own. It’s easy to see why this work of art has been rated the number one luxury resort in the world for three consecutive years. Out of all of our well-travelled adventures, it still holds a spot at the very top of our list as the most amazing resort we’ve ever checked into. Architect Bill Bensley, who defines his aesthetic as ‘the more odd, the better’, has left no detail unchecked in this vibrant, sprawling Vietnamese haven. The resort takes up four levels and is connected by cable car, so guests can spend their days hopping from Heaven, Sky, Earth to Sea. The 5-star suites are spacious and decadent - the perfect oasis to return to at the end of a long day of adventuring for a petal bath and a glass of champagne. Perhaps if you’re lucky, you’ll even catch a glimpse of one of the mountain’s cheekiest inhabitants: snub-nosed monkeys.
During the daytime, there are a plethora of activities to participate in for guests looking for both excitement and relaxation alike. An incredible breakfast buffet is served each morning in the Citron breakfast, so make sure to drop by early to snag one of their incredible booths overlooking the ocean while sipping on steaming Vietnamese coffee. After breakfast, start your day with some sunrise yoga on the Peninsular Viewing Deck then soak up the sunshine with water sports and lounging at the resort’s private beach. A long-overdue foot massage at Cure Studio by Bastien Gonzalez is a must, followed by an afternoon Tai Chi class in the garden and an evening movie in the resort’s boutique private cinema.
Among other highlights of the Intercontinental Da Nang Sun, guests simply have to visit M Rouge, an insanely fabulous karaoke venue inspired by the theatrical world of Toulouse-Lautrec and featuring six private rooms inspired by Hollywood’s most dazzling personalities (think Marilyn Monroe and Andy Warhol). The resort also boasts Vietnam’s only Michelin Star restaurant, La Maison 1888, a chic restaurant designed after a colonial French mansion, with each private dining room whispering fictional tales of exotic literary characters. It is a fine dining experience like no other.
Once you’ve soaked up your fair share of luxury at the Intercontinental Da Nang Sun, make sure to check out the nearby cities and beaches as well! The resort is only a short shuttle ride away from Da Nang City - the perfect stop for fresh and affordable seafood dinners and bike rides on the beach (be sure to bring your passport to reserve a rental!). We also recommend taking a day trip to Hoi Ann, a traditional town known for its expert tailoring (and who doesn’t want to take home a pair of chic linen trousers or an embroidered wrap skirt?), but also brimming with culture, market shopping, and cheap cocktails.
