Just outside the town of São Brás de Alportel, nicknamed “Terra de Bons Aires” (The Land of Good Air), sits a very special spot that we couldn’t recommend more highly for intimate weddings and elopements in the Algarve. Farmhouse of the Palms is a 200-year-old monte (Portuguese farmhouse) where traditional charm meets contemporary comfort. Lovingly restored by two charming owners, this bed and breakfast is divided up into 5 different suites of varying sizes, each with its own private terrace offering views of the surrounding towns and valley. It is the perfect location for an elopement or small gathering of up to 25 of your closest friends. In front of the dining terrace is a gorgeous lawn where you can say your vows with far-reaching views of the green Algarve countryside around you – the sound of lapping water fountains and chirping birds providing a serene soundtrack to the ceremony. Afterwards, enjoy cocktails provided by the owners and a long weekend of relaxing and brunching as you celebrate your nuptials.

Ceremony and Reception Spaces: While Farmhouse of the Palms doesn’t advertise itself as a wedding venue, it is the perfect spot for intimate gatherings (up to 25 guests) and elopements in the heart of the Algarve. The sweet owners, Frank and Veronique, are very flexible when it comes to making arrangements for your day and can suggest the best spots around the property for photo taking. The whole venue is made available for eloping couples to tie the knot, but we suggest the lawn in front of the dining terrace for a quiet outdoor spot with gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside.
Accommodations: The monte consists of 5 private suites, each with its own private terrace, and is perfect for eloping couples or small gatherings of friends. It can sleep up to 10 overnight guests, who are all very well taken care of by owners Frank and Veronique. We can’t speak highly enough about the warmth and hospitality of Frank and V, who prepare a homemade breakfast served in the gardens every morning, with lunch and cocktail options available during the summer months as well. This is a quiet and relaxing sanctuary where guests can truly unwind and relax while celebrating in bliss all weekend.
